ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL

The Environmental Film Festival takes places on the last Friday of every month at the KI Design Center for children in the Kokrobite and Langma communities. Students from local schools attend an evening event to watch a film about the environment, ecosystems, sustainability, and shifting our values as humans relate to nature. The film is followed by a guided Q&A discussion to stimulate discourse and critical thinking around relevant themes.

Students learn about different natural environments and the role climate change is having on the planet. The films offer a sense of adventure, incite curiosity, and build awareness, with special emphasis given to exploring Africa’s diverse landscape, history, and intellectual & cultural contributions. The primary purpose of the film festival is to expose young people to the world.

Outreach and capacity for this program has increased significantly due to popular demand, and currently includes six local schools: Presby Mission School, Sun Beam International School, Anagkazo Mission School, House of Peace Basic School, Kokrobitey MA Basic school, and Arise E.V.
